Memorial Day weekend

We had a nice relaxing Memorial Day weekend. On Sunday we went for a drive in the mountains because someone told us about a hummingbird place. Every Memorial Day weekend they tag and track hummingbirds, and they said the kids get to even hold them, so we went on a "family bonding drive" in search of this place- and we found it! And it was beautiful.
(On the way we saw some moose too!! That was very exciting, I was getting worried when they got a little close to the the car though! hehehe) There were hundreds of hummingbirds
They are tagging a hummingbird- they said their legs are the width of needles.

Ella's hummingbird was the only one that stayed in her hand long enough for a picture. The boy's birds took off right away.....(smart birds!)

Ella's bird stayed a long time, in fact I was beginning to wonder if it had gone into shock and was going to die in her hand. That would have been just lovely. But it took off! (Thankfully)

Livi found a swing and she was in heaven!

On Monday we went to the fish hatchery and fed the fish. If you look close, you can see them.

The kids were getting up close and personal with the fish! Adam was trying to get them to touch them. YUCK!

Ella was leaning over like this one year on her birthday when we came here and she fell in head first! Luckily, no accidents this year.

Liv was having fun, but getting tired.
What a fun weekend!

What a fun family activity. :) And I LOVE the picture of Livi on the swing. She's got the prettiest eyes.

We've always wanted to go to the Hummingbird thing as well but never made it. I'm so glad you guys got to go. And we haven't been to the fish hatchery yet this year - that's a must FHE.
