Christmas in Washington!

We had a wonderful Christmas vacation at my parent's house in Washington this year. No one got sick, or hurt, everyone slept well, and played well. We had a blast!!! We started things out by riding horses for a little while---this was one of  the only days without snow!

Then later on Saturday we went on an "eagle cruise" around Lake Coeur d'Alene.  It was amazing! The eagles come down from Alaska and nest at the lake for winter. We saw about 250 eagles in those 2 hours! It was so much fun.

 Family photo :)

My dad was teaching the kids how to fence. :)  At least they had face masks. They really enjoyed that.

One of the boys favorite things to do is build a fire with grandpa. :)
On Monday (Christmas Eve) we woke up to about 6 inches of snow! Beautiful!  It was a white Christmas!
This girl LOVED the snow! She was the first one out and the last one in every time!

So we decided to build a snowman. And not just any snowman. It ended up being about 10 feet tall! And my dad made a snowlady for the snowman. :)

So--Adam is 6'5" so you can really see how tall these snowpeople are!
Merry Christmas!!!!! The kiddos waited until 7:00 to come upstairs. Thanks guys.
 Merry Christmas mom and dad!
 Captain Underpants!! hahaha
 I love Liv's face!
Ashton was so excited to get his remote control helicopter. Aaron got one too.
Hopefully this video of the eagles works. It was such an amazing thing to see.

It was a wonderful Christmas full of beautiful memories.

November and some December.....

I try not to feel too guilty for not posting every week- but in the back of my mind, I always feel like I need to. Well- my blog is turning in to a monthly posting lately. If you knew what our days were like here though- you'd be surprised I could fit in a monthly posting!

First off----Basketball!!!! We love basketball season! The boys were on different leagues this year. Aaron was on the "Heat" and Ashton was on the "Broncos". Both #8. They did so good. They both were pretty competitive- especially towards the end of the season, and they both had really good teams.

My parents came the day after Thanksgiving and got to go to a basketball game with us. :)  It was so fun to have them with us for a few days!

Some family pics....

I love setting up the tree! The kids love looking at all the ornaments. And then all month long they un-decorate, and then re-decorate the tree!

Adam decided to go all out and decorate the 75 foot tree in our side yard with Christmas lights. He took all the kids for a ride on the crane too. Not me- I'm a chicken!

Well that was our month in a nut shell. Stay tuned for our Christmas post--we are off to Washington in a few days!!!!! So excited!!!!

Our month recap....

This month has flown by. That was a pic of our giant pumpkin--Adam guessed it weighed over 100 lbs!  It sure was pretty- for a while.

We decided to forget the mess of carving and just color the pumpkins- and no one said a word! :)  They got to use markers, so they were happy.

Livia was a ballerina princess.

Preston was Iron Man  (He hated his costume--I think it was too hot--and refused to wear the mask. Oh well)

This was unfortunately the only other pic that we got of the kids on Halloween. The boys were ninjas, and Ella was a lady in PJ's and curlers.

I thought I'd show a few projects we've done too......burlap wreaths......my new favorite- super cheap and easy!!

I made a brownish one, and Ella made a white one for her door.

I got another window frame!! I love old window frames.  This one was oak brown colored- so we taped it off and spray painted it dark brown, almost black. I love it in our basement!

My friend Jesalee did the vinyl and she let Ella come and learn how to do it for a field trip. Ella LOVED it!

Last but not least.........

Our home- that we love is for sale. :(   We've tried to stay here as long as we could--but Adam just has to drive too far every day for work. When the kids started saying, "We never see dad"--that was the kicker. So we'll see what happens. We love everything about it here---but maybe we're ready to start a new adventure.
